Re: Share a Hadeeth that had a profound impact on you
Nice thread AQ :k:
The 3 that have had an impact on me in some way or another are the following 3 hadiths from Imam An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadiths:
1,
On the authority of the Commander of the Faithful, Aboo Hafs `Umar ibn al-Khattaab who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say:
** Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration (Hijrah) was for Allah and His Messenger, his migration migration was for Allah and His Messenger , and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that which he migrated. **
It is related by the two imaams of the scholars of Hadith, Aboo Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismaaeel ibn Ibraheem ibn al-Mugheera ibn Bardizbah al-Bukhaaree and Aboo-l-Husain Muslim ibn al-Hajjaaj ibn Muslim al-Qushairee an-Naisaabooree, in their two Saheehs, which are the soundest of compiled books.
2,
On the authority of Aboo `Abdullah an-Nu`maan the son of Basheer, who said: I head the Messenger of Allah say:
**That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honour, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh, which, if it be whole, all the body is whole, and which, if it is diseased, all of it is diseased. truly, it is the heart. **
It was related by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.
3,
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, who said : The messenger of Allah said :
** Part of someone's being a good Muslim is his leaving alone that which does not concern him.**
