Sharabi Kababi

I don’t know either i should open this thread here or not but i have seen some nice intellectuals here so my question is this

A person who has addiction towards:

  1. Sharab name Sharabi

  2. Chars name Charsi

  3. Affemi name Afeemi or Afeemchi

  4. Heroin name Heroinchi

  5. but how about a person who has addiction towards “Bhang” ? :konfused:

I have heared a famous quote about Bhang in Punjabi ..

Jay Charh gai to Aankh laal
jay pach gai to gallan (cheeks) laat
Jay pharay gaiy to pichon laal
Jhoooooolayyyyyyyyy laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll

Please be serious while replying this. Shukaria

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Its Bhangi and I think we have discussion on this issue

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/culture-literature-and-linguistics/576492-bhang-and-bhangi.html

BTW who is kababi? one who sells kabab or addicted to eating kabab?

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Bhangi .. :sunnyboy:

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Sharabi and Kababi are often pronounced together to make it a complete word. It originated from families for whom eating meat and drinking wine had been a strict no no. And it is believed that when U drink wine, ur lust for non-vegetarian food increases. So sharabi Kababi.

Separately kababi stands for one who cook kababs, mmmmmmmmmouth watering ones.

Re: Sharabi Kababi

so this is the relationship between sharab and kabab :hehe: Does that mean drinking is not common amongst vegetarian?

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Its absolutely wrong. I never thought that any one can mix Bhangi with Bhang even i read in urdu books that Bhangi’s feminine is Bhangan, This word has used in some urdu novels as well (Deputy Nazir aur kuch Masharti novels). We call Bhangi to Jamadar as well.

Moreover, its an Indian cast and do three professions, cleaning latrines, sweeping and scavenging and I am astonished none of Indians told this thing here.

Bhang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HistoryBhang was first used as part of the Hindu rite in India around 1000 BC[SUP]citation needed][/SUP] and soon became an integral part of Hindu culture. The herb was devoted to Lord Shiva on Shivratri, a Hindu festival.
Sadhus and Sufis use Bhang to boost meditation and to achieve transcendental states. Bhang or cannabis is also used amongst Sufis as an aid to spiritual ecstasy.
The Nihang sect of the Sikh community consume bhang for pain relief from battle wounds. In Sikhism, it is strictly prohibited to consume for pleasure, a rule which is followed very loyally. It started as an ayurvedic medicine whose main use for the Nihangs was to aid in reducing pain from battle wounds, and also as a digestive aid, called Sukhnidhan [SUP][1]](Bhang - Wikipedia)[/SUP]
The historian Richard Davenport-Hines lists Thomas Bowrey as the first Westener to document the use of bhang.[SUP][2]](Bhang - Wikipedia)[/SUP]

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Its a derogatory word, this is why everyone wanted to avoid.

Re: Sharabi Kababi

proper urdu word for Bhangi (sweeper) is Mehtar used in classic Urdu literature. Khaakrob was also used

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Sharab aur kabab is the best combination IMHO )

Re: Sharabi Kababi

:cb: there is also third element, which is called shabaab

Re: Sharabi Kababi

You rightly said but it was bitter truth. There were no relations between Bhang and this cast. Is there still Shodar, Khashtri and have some of them upgraed their standard of lives or not ?

Re: Sharabi Kababi

You are right but this word too use for sweeper and its damn tru that Bhangi never use for a person who is fond of Bhang :khumar:

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Ppls says if you have a combination of Sharab and Chicken kabab :yummy: you will become healthy :hehe: So you have seen Wadaira’s who drink are healthy ones but poor like me become sick :hinna:

Re: Sharabi Kababi

Vegetarian bhi jam kar sharab pite hain…

Mera ek friend tha…vegetarian tha magar zabardast sharabi bbhi tha..but he was a kindhearted person…

Re: Sharabi Kababi

hamen aap ki ghurbat pe boht afsos huwa. aap aaloo ke kabab ke sath bhang try karo

Re: Sharabi Kababi

why is it so that there is general conception about sharabi is that they are involved in domestic violence (beating wife and all that), almost all the poets used to drink. Ghalib ne to kabhi apni wife per hath nahin uthaya

Re: Sharabi Kababi
