How do I get to Shandur without getting killed/mugged/eaten on the way, I want to go on my own as no one will come with me.
Does anyone know any dates and how much it is to watch the match, their website is out of date and pretty useless. I am going to Islamabad in July.

The most easiest way is to go to chitral by Plane
and then hire a jeep from there and get to Shandoor
As I visited Chitral last year I would suggest you that dont go alone atleast go with some friends and you will even enjoy alot …
And there are no security issues Army is deployed all over KPK and Chitral when Shandoor starts

Thank you for ur reply! its not the place im worried about, Ive heard all sorts of stuff about the journey and how locals mug u amongst other things. Do I need tickets to watch the match and if so where would I get them from?

Yes you are right thats why Im suggesting you to dont go alone…People can mug you there …Its free you dont need to buy tickets just reach there a day before enjoy the the world’s highest polo ground and its surroundings do camping and in the morning you can watch the matches!
