Since I do most of my cooking, these Shan masala packs have been a blessing for me. I have used them to make dishes I could only dream of cooking. I also follow thier recipies.
Now, I have been told by many people that these are nothing compared to masala made at home. How does one make Biryani, Karahi Gosht or Chicken Tikka masala at home?. Shan may not be the best but it sure gives the proper taste to the dish being cooked.
yep i m agree ...i have tried few of em like baryani masala n pakora mix ...i cant make those masals at home but my mom used to cook food without that masals packs jo ke achay ban jatay they ...now i dont know ke how :o
shaan masalas are greattttt, love the shan bombay biryaani masala, its the best,my mom uses that to make biryaani, its better than makin masala urself i tell ya:yummy:
Life is pretty busy on my side. I can't take out 4 hrs to from my busy/hectic day and stand in kitchen to cook. Those mix masalas works great for me.... Although i get to hear a lot from ami ji after wards :~) but hey i always end up adding something else in the food.
I normally cook food using...Salt, Pepper, Red chili, Ginger, Garlic, Haldi(mustard powder), Yougart, Tomato Paste, and Garam masala. And its always delicious.

if you mix your own spice, it will be more to your liking. why does qorma at 2 diff places taste diff, or biryani. whatr makes one cook a better cook than another..
shan spice packets are good, but if someone is a good cook this person's own mix will be better, and unique.
for a start, all shan packets have the ingredients written on them  toh u always know which individual masalay are used in the masala mix. u can always use a mix n match of those.
basic rules to follow are…
the one thing that no meat dish can do without is THOM(GARLIC).
and
yoghurt/tomato but thats not completely essential.
so after this basic ingredient just experiment a bit and u’ll get the hang of it :k:
