Jub teri shan e karimi pe nazar jati hai
Zindagi kitne marahil se guzar jati hai
Be talab mujhko diye jata hai dene wala
Hath uth te nahi , jholi meri bhar jati hai
Mujhe na dekh gunahon ko talne walay
Gunahagar hoon mai mere palne walay
Gira hoon jo tou mohammad ka naam hai lub par
Sambhal mujhko ae mere sambhalne walay
Apne mabood se ummeed lagaye rakhna
Wo sunay ya na sunay hath uthaye rakhna
Kuch bhi daman mai nahi naat e mohammad k siwa
Mere maabood meri baat banaye rakhna
Can someone explain what exactly the lyricist means by the second Paragraph and the last 2 lines of the last paragraph.
The poet is addressing to Allah Almighty with great humility (Inkesaari), he says
Oh God the Forgiver of sins (Gunahoun ko Taalne waley; here the word “taalna” is used as rhyme (قافیہ) ) dont look at me (as i am full of sins), Oh God the Fosterer (paalne waley ) i am very sinful even if i fall (here Fall (Girna) means Misguided (Gumrah hona ya gunahgar hona ), the name of Mohammedis on my lips (Reciting his name/ or Naat) Oh God the Admonisher, **Guide me in the right Path **(here Sambhalna is used as guidance)
Summary:
Basically it is like a supplication (Dua) in which the poet prays to Allah, to ignore his sins and forgive him and seeks allah’s Guidance by intercession (Waseela) of his love to our beloved Prophet Mohammed
2nd Couplet of last Stanza:
There is nothing i have (virtues /good deeds/ نیکی) except Naat-e-Mohammed
**Oh God (let me be on right path) **(dont reveal my ill deeds in front of others)
Summary:
this is also close to the above stanza, the poet is seeking allah’s help to (perhaps not to be exposed or ashamed because of his own sins in front of others (may be referred to hereafter).
