FC takes control of Shamsi Airbase*
Frontier Corps has taken the control of Shamsi Airbase here on Saturday. According to the sources 51 US troops have vacated the airbase and their luggage has been shifted to Afghanistan and FC took the control of base. The base was previously used by the UAE leaders as they have been allotted hunting areas by the government of Pakistan in the vicinity of the base. Pakistan government has ordered US to vacate the base after the Nato attack on country’s check-posts in Mohmand agency of tribal region which led the killing of 24 soldiers.

They are part of the "deal" with the PAF regarding the F-16s sale. This is why I was opposed to the sale, unless PAF's threat perception has shifted westwards from india, since there is no guarantee that US won't pull a 65 or 71 again (when india was in soviet camp) if there is a war with new found "ally" India.

French for mirage? I thought PAF had the most sophisticated and experience Mirage rebuild teams out of France? The ROSE upgrades have been done for a while. I always thought alouette and falco were on the way out, but I guess chinese helicopters designs are behind.

Pakistan operate three Shaanxi y-8 (zdk-3) in aew&c roles, recently acquired.

Why the hell do we need UAVs from italians when we were making them ourselves? It is not like falco is a UCAV to explain its acquirement by Pakistan.
PS my mistake. I remember there was a plane named falcon, which I believe is in the PAF’s VIP fleet.
