k so here is the next question
Is there a natural shampoo
i meant naturally occuring stuff that can be used as a shampoo rather then using the bottle shampoos?
yes, you can make your own shampoos..are you looking for recipes??? i can provide with some..just let me know your hair type? i mean oily, dry , normal etc?
In Punjab and northern India there used to be seeds of a tree called Ritha. It had a natural but very mild soap. A few piecs of Ritha in water and splashed about raises nice suds. Great for washing hair, just like shampoo. My mom used Ritha for washing woolen clothes, and specially pashmina shawls, when dry cleaning was not available or invented.
..i have heard of girls doing that. wanted to clarify im no pervert
dekho Akif, if you want to call it perversion for yourself that's fine but do consider that there are people in the world who just like to help out women in washing their hair just out of kindness and helpfulness, ok?
thanks guyz, Ritha sounds promising, I am not sure bout dabbing tubs of yogurt in my hair
Here is the problem, my skin is extremely sensitive and the shampoo is giving me a very scaly and itchy scalp esp in winters, which i swear is so irritating
so i am using this scalp cleanser instead 'Fongitar' which is basically some kinda Tar, smells yucky but it helps
but i was thinking of using something natural instead of smelling ot Tar all day
So this Ritha stuff, is this available easily
like can i ask relatives in india/pakistan to get me some Ritha and they will get it for me with no hassles?
I think you can get Ritha form India or Pakistan. For conditioner, in those days it was Amla oil or coconut oil (as littile as possible and rinse right away.
Traditionally in India, different things have been used to wash hair and many people I know believe that shampoo is harmful. "soap nut" is used in south India, also known as sekakai. It foams and has good edergent action.
In many places people use besan or mung dall atta in a paste form to wash hair. As already said, amla, reetha and hibiscus are also part of traditional formulae. Sometimes there is also mehndi in them.
Nowadays in India, besides the traditional soapnut powder etc. there are several made up commercial formulae on the market, with a combination of these ingredients also including things like methi. I use them - until my supplies run out!!! What I do is to oil my head with coconut oil and massage well, leave as long as possible and then wash. It gets rid of teh oil well.
Anchal,
Mehndi is the best conditioner,i've heard so far
some amount of mehndi in some water and lemon juice.......really helps
or after washing your hair just rinse with a tsp of lemon juice or vinegar in a glass of water
