Shampoo Alert

Salam to friends, well i got this mail and felt like sharing it you all.

Check up ur shampoo and toothpaste..Please avoid cancer

**Just for your info, and please take note of the shampoo you use to wash
your hair every night!

ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see if they have this
substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This
substance is found in most shampoos, and the manufactures use it because it
produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. But the fact is that SLS is used to
scrub garage floors, and it is very strong. lt is
also proven that it can
cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke.
shampoo such as,
Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, the new Hemp shampoo, Pantene Pro-V etc.. contains this substance.
Colgate toothpaste also contains the same
substance to produce the “bubbles”.
. Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance
of
getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of
getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. “CLINIC PLUS” Shampoo also contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate(SLS) substance
in it. **

Re: Shampoo Alert

so one out of three people will get cancer? u must be joking.

Re: Shampoo Alert

This is a hoax.

Re: Shampoo Alert

We’re glad to have the chance to answer your concerns about Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES).

Rumors about SLS and SLES have been floating around cyberspace for almost a year. Like many health-related claims on the Internet, these too are false.

Information printed on the American Cancer Society website states: “Contrary to popular rumors on the Internet, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) do not cause cancer. Both are common ingredients, which create foam and bubbles, and are found in most shampoos, cosmetic cleaners, bath and shower gels, bubble baths, tooth pastes and mouth rinses. Both compounds are cosmetic detergents, which exert emulsifying action, thereby removing oil and soil from the hair and skin.”

Re: Shampoo Alert

Just because you got it in an email, why do you believe it? Do you know who the person who originally wrote the email was? Was the source trustworthy?

If I were to send you an email saying tha it’s scientifically proven that if you jump backwards off a cliff whilst shouting “PETER PAN”, you’d be able to fly, would you post it up on sites like GS?

Check your facts. Don’t spread lies.

Re: Shampoo Alert

hehe lol!
as an anticonsumerist and europeean activist acting for environement preservation and humanity intergrity, i have to say that no respectable organic shampoo brand would include SLS in its ingredient list!

Re: Shampoo Alert

This is hoax & around for years. Someone even tried hard to convince me to buy some organic shampoo from Malta or UK telling SLS is bad. But pick any shampoo & see the ingrediants, do some research on the internet and you will whats the truth.

Re: Shampoo Alert

hmmmm no one can explain the BIG huge increase in brain and lymphom cancer that has arisen these latest decades, not the aging population, not the smocking decline in developped countries…and NO doctors can explain it, so how can we trust them when they tell us chemicals are not causing cancer? because we also know they have NO mean to prove it’s safe!
precaution principle is that in absence of facts to prove either safety or danger we shall abstain from using unknown suspects substance, and unfortunately 75% of the most commonly used chemicals by the firm you work for and others are NOT tested on a combined basis (i mean interactions btw those molecules) on humans regarding long term effects such as cancer

Re: Shampoo Alert

no one knows the truth, so i am not going to trust modern people, i prefer to trust my ancestors, they knew how to live long and happy lives....traditions are my moto, plus they are cheap;)
