How many people know that beef masala is NOT made of beef just like fish masla is not made of fish? And why were Indian doctors eating food-aid intended for people of Nepal?
Re: Shamelss Indian media
Indian reports on ‘beef masala’ quashed - Pakistan - DAWN.COM
ISLAMABAD: Following media reports that Pakistan had offended the Nepalese by sending beef in food packets, the Foreign Office clarified on Thursday that the population of Nepal was “mostly Hin**du, not Buddhist” and that Indian media reports on the subject had been exaggerated.
“We have been in contact with Nepalese authorities. We have been informed that they have no issues with the food packets from Pakistan. On the contrary, the Nepalese authorities requested another planeload of the food packets supplied by Pakistan,” FO Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told Dawn on Thursday.
The controversy surfaced when Indian doctors at a Kathmandu hospital pointed out that packets of ‘beef masala’ were sent by Pakistan as part of relief aid to quake survivors.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
Watched the whole video. Mistake was Pakistans. The reason given - packets meant for Muslims (4% of popukation). Which makes matters worse. When aid is sent, it should be sent such that all benefit. Here only 4 percent could use the aid.
The Parthasarathy guy was disgusting. The guy on red shirt made sense. The packets shoukd not have been sent. Whether beef masala.has beef is not relevant. Just as pork masala - whether it has pork is not relevant.
The gentleman from Pakistan acknowledged.it was a mistake. And that packets were sent unintentionally. An accident. And he stated the Pakistan govt probably gave the reason (that the packets were meant for muslims) “to save face” (his words).
The Indian doctor did not eat the packet contents. He saw the label and brought it to attention of media.
The TV host had an agenda - to make Pakistan look bad. It is a shame that during such times, politics is brought in.
But OP has misrepresented few things. Just want to make it clear what the video shows.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
^^^ 1) Beef masala does not contain beef (its spices that are intended to be used in cooking & flavor and preservation of food). 2) If you believe that beef masala comes from beef do you also believe that baby oil comes from babies? 3) Indian media gives bad name to yellow journalism…they are shameless & are obsessed with Pakistan and to make Pakistan look bad. 4) 1000s of people are dead 100s of 1000s are injured or are homeless…is this most important topic to discussed in this natural calamity?
Re: Shamelss Indian media

You missed the point re beef masala - whether it contains beef or not. The folks receiving the food DON’T know that. I read ur earlier post making this point. Would it be OK to send masala packet named suwar masala to muslime even if it doesn’t contain suwar? Of course not. Would a muslim pick up a “suwar masala” packet from a grocery store if he had no knowledge if it contains suwar or not. Of course not. Would he pick up the packer EVEN if he KNEW it did not contain suwar. Most probably not. The label i5self.will be a repellant. Common sense.
-
see.point 1. It is not about what I or anyone else believes. If you think sending suwar masala to muslims is OK you have a point. Note that the Pakistan govt stated the packages were meant for non hindus. Or muslims (for I don’t think Buddhists eat beef either). So clearly the Pakistan govt is sensitive in terms of significance of “beef” masala. They are not making the argument you are making. The Pakistani gentleman also agreed that sending the packet was a mistake. Oh well.
-
no point of contention here.
-
again I agree. However, the Pakistan govt probably could have done better than the clarification it issued - that the packets were meant for non Hindu population.
Inviting an RSS member was a disgrace. The white shifted guy with vibhhooti on his forehead was clearly a hate monger.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
Does that mean it’s ok for us to eat pork flavoured crisps?
(Not that I have btw)
Re: Shamelss Indian media
OMG
give pakistan a break.
Find me one person from PM to the truck loaders in this chain, who knew that Nepal had hindu population. Thats how we roll ![]()
Pakistan’s answer was a cover up. they did not want to say "we did not know "
Re: Shamelss Indian media
Indian Media… ![]()
sad thing is that Pakistani media is trying to follow in their footsteps.
and they are crying why bring politics into aid stuff… spending half and hour program on something that doesn’t relate to India.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
You are saying it is not ‘Ready-to-eat’, but shan masalas so people can cook it themselves?
Re: Shamelss Indian media
India is neither in teen (3) nor in teera(13)… Phir bhi naak ghusernay chahta hia…
Is it beef masala (spices), or masala beef (dish). I agree with oymwa that sending spices to the survivors make no sense. In fact it’s plain stupid if Pakistan did that.
On the other hand, if they sent beef masala then it’s equally stupid. How would we feel if we were receiving pork chops as aid food during our earthquake?
Re: Shamelss Indian media
I think, without being certain, that the package contained some sort of beef aroma/flavour, otherwise it would not make sense to call it ready-to-eat.
I also believe that it was not intentional on Pakistan’s part, because knowingly carrying out such an act would be quite dumb. Or perhaps one is so confined to ones own religious traditions, that one fail to see how others might have different type of religious sentiments, which they are as sensitive to, as you are to yours.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
you mix religiosity with media, you get guaranteed shamelessness - from faux news to zee. those who want it, lap it up. nothing the new heyar. and as always, pakistanis have messed up their PR - this time sending beef to a hindu country (that worships annually by chopping heads off a zillion buffalos in ritual sacrifice, but cows be sacred).
Re: Shamelss Indian media
^ queer has a point here. Pakistan has an image problem. Nasty things happen in many countries, but they counter it with good PR. Pakistan’s PR is so bad, it just makes things worse.
Re: Shamelss Indian media
q makes another good point - animal sacrifices do occur. But somehow eating meat not good.
Though I think the goldmember used some editorial freedoms and creativity to confuse buffalos for goats.

Yes. Especially when there is imminent risk of death due to hunger.

Yes, it was idiotic.
But the issue was pakistan-nepal.
Why is Indian media so excited? and golden words that they are accusing Pakistan of using this for political purposes, where in fact it is this TV and Indian media who are using earthquake and Pakistani stupidity for political purposes.
Would Pakistani TV doing a show on something like this going on between India-SriLanka make sense?

Yes, if the flavoring is spices only.

Actually, I totally agree with you here.
