Is the concept of shame outdated? If not, at least in your own surrounding environment, do you personally think that it should be?

it's not outdated.. that's why people continually try to hide certain things about themselves until they cant take it anymore, in fear of being shamed by anyone
I had read a long time ago that some cultures are shame-cultures whereas others are overal guilt-cultures and that the former can be found in the East wheras the latter is characteristic of the West.
You pose an interesting question though. Do you think that trends in the media, advancement of technology, and our faster-paced and more materialistic lifestyle has any influence on....shame?
not outdated. i get shamed all the time from the elders (even peers) on my views and choices. not to mention the emotional blackmail.
