Ok, sorry for the bajilllionth thread on Mubashir, but I’m really nervous…I’ve already paid a deposit there and I keep hearing people tell me he’s not good :S I booked him not on the basis of pictures but because other people told me he’s a safe choice.
I’m considering just forgetting about my deposit there and booking Shamain instead…has anyone who has seen both Shamain and Mubashir brides have any advice? Which one is better? Am I really freaking out for no reason? I feel like bridezilla right now, if my makeup isnt good, it doesnt matter how good my outfit looks cause I’ll look horrible 
I think shamain would be the safest choice. All the brides ive seen by shamain have been really good. Btw how much is she charging these days? last i hear it was 22?

I've seen good brides by Mubashir and I didn't quite like the bride I saw by Shamain. Or maybe coz the girl was pretty and fair already and the makeup just made her look like a "bride" rather than even prettier than herself.
No matter who you go to for your makeup, be very clear what you want. shades of lipstick (ex. reds or browns or corals or peaches), eyemakeup etc. ,for that do research, talk to your MUA, explain your apprehensions and put your foot down if there's something they did that you didn't like or was uncomfortable with. too bad they don't give trials here.
Oh and also ask your dress designer for recommendations on makeup
Personally I like Shaheen Saeed more
Shamain is great with her pastel-range and very light makeup. Shaheen Saeed and Mubasshir do a good job with dramatic eyes..like someone mentioned, be specific with u're 'wants' tell them what u want emphasis on. (eyes/lips)

i really like Mubashir's work. Brides have an ethereal glow in real life and in pictures. Not as heavy as other bridal make up, but VERY graceful! He doesnt over-do the eyeliner like Allenora etc. He's not as simple as Bina Khan. Just right in the middle. Wish I could provide you some pixx but I dont have any. He even does fabulous haircuts!
Plus he's on the MAC Asian color palette team so he would really know which colors suit us the best. Shamain on the other hand is a bit OTT make up IMO.

Shamain is RS 25000 on weekdays and Saturdays, and RS 35000 on Sundays. You have to give a 4000 advance.
I guess its not that I think Mubashir's makeup is bad, its just that I've heard people say he wasn't bridal enough.
Pareezay, you can't do a trial, but I did get a consultation with Mubashir. I think he normally tells you what features he would emphasize, what looks would go well with your face...I guess people either choose to emphasize the eyes or the lips, and he said either look would go well with my face. I didnt know which one to go with but since Gina says he does better with dramatic eyes, I think I'll do that.
Those of you who have seen his work in person, will I still 'look like a bride'??
Fasaadi, when u went for u're consultation did u tell him u want emphasis on the eyes and wanted u're lips to be subtle? U can ask him to incorporate shimmery eyeshadows instead of matte one's.. if possible, show him a couple of pictures of the 'look' u're trying to achieve.

have not seen mubashir's brides..but that one bride by shamain was gorgeous!! I agree with the fellow guppies, be verbal about what you want, and I am sure he will cater to your needs accordingly. wishing you all the luck :)
