There’s many such marriages that happen in the US when the dude is losing his visa status and marries a US citizen just to secure his status. Some of the couples you see are like totally . For the cases that are successful, the guy gets his greencard and gracefully divorces his American wife after the minimum requirement, then goes home to bring back a cute bride . There’s no hard feelings as the lady probably got some compensation from the guy and there was a verbal contract. I know many cases like this. In fact one couple was so strange that the immigration folks would give them surprise visits to check out what they were up to. Somehow they pulled it off!

Anyone seen “Greencard?” Interesting movie.

Yes, they pulled it off, but then again there are some conditions on the marriage based green card. The employment based ones does not have any conditions.
