Re: Shalwar kameez or Western clothes?

**daytime: always western
b4 going to bed: change into shalwar qameez
weekends mostly lucknauwa kurta paijama except when i go outside. i also wear sherwani on occasions [of islamic nature]

in india i wear shalwar qameez and lackhnauwa kurta paijama 24/7...:) its comfy!**

same here!

It was the opposite for me, my dad used to hate desi clothes so as a kid I never wore desi clothes. It was always Western clothes on eids, birthdays, weddings ( even in Pak). Now the situation is I wear Desi clothes on eid and weddings.

Re: Shalwar kameez or Western clothes?

hahha, i think im the onli 1 that wears strictly salwar kameez. i have never worn western clothes lol. even at uni i wear salwar kameez mostly beacuse i think they are soo cool. and secondly im a kapre addict, always getting them sewn. matching shoes and bag and damn your sorted. gorea always commenting on asian kapre, and nowadays the clothes they wear are so desified that its soo unbelevable. like long dresses, with flower prints, the shawls which look like they been bought from rawalpndi bazaar. and even our bangles are soo in fashion nowadys.. goreya chin chinin in your face. i remeber they used 2 laugh at heavy salware and now them lot wearin harem trousers lol. overall i love my desi clothes that i could never bring myself round 2 wearing western clothes.

good for you star123! its nice to see someone wearing their desi clothes with so much pride!

haha thanks...

University and gym: western clothes
everywhere else: shalwar kameez, whether its at home or out shopping or something

Re: Shalwar kameez or Western clothes?

westren everywhere...work, home, college, shopping hangout.
eastern only at desi event n others...like dinners, masjid, weddings...n when visiting pakistan (but even thn at home i wear jeans and stuff...just more comfortable in them).

^ Same here..

It's not always practical to wear shalwar khameez eg too cold in some parts of Europe and the US and also there are jobs where it just wouldn't be appropriate just as it wouldn't be if u turned up for some jobs in Pakistan in jeans and a top lol..

Western clothes for work, going out shopping (most of the time), leisure time outside e.g. bowling

Desi clothes: for chilling in, for special events, Eids, visiting family....and whenever takes my fancy.

TBH I just go with the flow-whatever takes my fancy at the time.

At uni I never wore shalwar kameez though, I think I would now though.
