Does anyone have a special way of making sweet potato chaat? My mum makes it with heaps of additions (tomatoes, chickpeas, onions, green chillies) , and i make it with imli, lemon lime juice, and chaat masala.
I have heaps at home this week, so wanted to try something different with it.
when i make it, i peel, cut into cubes, then boil it. take it out of the water when it's done. In a cup mix imli paste, lemon /lime juice (or any juice you have, eg, orange, apple, mango), shaan chaat masala. Pour it onto the shakarkandi.. enjoy

Ohmygod! That sounds so simple and delicious. I am going to try this TONIGHT! thanks a mill!
shakarqand kii kheer laa_jawaab hotii hai...India/Pakistan kii shakarqand jis meN resha nahiiN hotaa aur jo az Had meeThii aur zaaiqedaar hotii hai...Caribbean shakarqand jo orangish hotii hai achchhii nahiiN hotii.
maiN bachpane meN shakarqandii ko choolhe kii garam garam raakh meN gaaR kar khaayaa karte the....bahot maze kii huaa kartii thii...you can bake in the oven...it will be similar to what i am talking about.
I was banned from buying shakarkandi this week, last wek i spent $15 on it, which isn't much, but still got in trouble. The purple one with white flesh is best, the orange gets stringy.
^ Which variety of sweet potato you use to make fries? I like the orange one.
the imported kind from India...we buy them at an Indian store...it has white flesh with almost no fibres. try them...make sure you buy them from Indo-Pak stores...Pakistani shakarqand is equally good :)
