Guess who is Shahid Kapoor’s new best friend now? Well it’s none other than Indian Idol finalist Meiyung Chang from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. Shahid’s new on screen buddy Meiyung found fame through his singing in Season 3 of the reality show Indian Idol, and also his relationship with fellow-contestant Monali Thakur was the talk of the town.
Apparently, Meiyung is making his movie debut in Yashraj Films’ Shahid-Anushka Sharma starrer directed by Parmeet Sethi. And as he is under a contract to not whisper a word of this to anyone we contacted the film’s music composer Pritam Chakraborty if he had any hand in Meiyung’s casting.
After all it was Pritam’s composition ‘Zara zara touch me’ in Race that made Chang’s girlfriend Monali Thakur a star. And as per the buzz it was widely believed that Pritam played a cupid between the two Indian Idol contestants.
But Pritam has washed his hands off Meiyung’s love life or his career. “Chang is a dear friend and he is seeing Monali. But I had nothing to do with it. Nor did I have any hand in his casting in Parmeet’s film. I’m only the music composer on that project.”
