Shahid Afridi has come to the US in the past as a guest of Islamic Relief USA and he did a few fund raisers for Pakistan. 2 years ago in New York and other cities in the US, Younus Khan came as well for the same reason. I was present at that fund raiser in NY and I actually drove Younus Khan from his hotel and also had lunch with him next day as a volunteer of Islamic Relief. Islamic Relief in Pakistan, has Rashid Latif and Moin Khan as frequent guests who do fund raising for them.

So what do you guys think about Nawaz Sharif's generous Laptop scheme?
Afridi has been stupid, even selfish at times in the past but that shouldn't stop us from appreciating his good work. If rich fans are willing to buy his cap for $3,000 and that money then goes to some noble cause/benefits the poor and needy, it can only be good for humanity. We should support it regardless of what we might think of his other antics
As for Sharifs' laptops it is no different to the sham Benazir Income Support Scheme, most of the beneficiaries I am told are brain dead jiyalas. If the Sharifs had done this during the first couple of years after coming into power in Punjab, I would have given them credit but now it seems more like a vote-buying tactic. They are just fooling the gullible masses. Besides with our elected crooks, it is more like a case of stealing Rs 100 from public funds and then giving Rs 20 back to the people!
