He wants to play league cricket therefore does not want to retire early.
I think , Shahid Afridi does not know izzat say retire hone. He is true embarrassment on his follower, and fans.
This guy who played 20 years of cricket and almost played on all rankings in batting order and didn’t know real rank. He lacks patience , the key for cricket, and shamelessly wants to play more.

How many players do know when to retire? Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Yousuf did not retire on their own terms... you can add many more to the list.. Just my 2c.

In most crucial matches, he went on duck. I remember, my stats professor giving example of player performance and clearly told us that his selection and placement in team is worthless. Based on all statistics.

Whataboutism, just because most players didnt retire on their own term we should not ask afridi. :D
Re: Shahid Afridi does not know izzat say retire hona
My point is… players do not recognize the time when they should retire, they probably think they should retire when they are not selected anymore or if their leg/arm becomes useless. If you think I am Afridi fan then you are on the wrong side … I am performance fan, I want all non-performers out of the team.

Decades ago, I attended a talk by the great Vijay Merchant who came to a ground in our humble neighborhood. He said - a player should retire when people ask why, not why not.
I disagree though. The players livelihood and specialty is his game. His sport. Why give up before one is booted out? Let the Selectors make the hard decision.

Its always good to leave on a good note. (International) Cricket is not like regular profession where you work till retirement age. If you leave cricket when your management/team thinks you are unnecessary baggage then you will be out of self-esteem (unless someone doesn't have it :D), you should leave it on your own terms, instead of being booted out.

Maybe if a player has boatloads of self esteem, he realizes it is best to play at the competitive level till he can no longer play at that level. And what better barometer than having the Selectors tell him no you cant.
What is he going to do after he retires? The commentary box can wait another two years. The sport is the cricketers major skill and asset. Best to leave nothing on the table. Rather than let some sort of vanity and pride force him out of the game prematurely.

Oh dear what is Imran Khan your hero saying:
Imran Khan says he was disappointed with Shahid Afridi’s captaincy at World T20 as he did the opposite to what he was told to do. He also suggested that Pakistan’s results at World T20 may have been different if **Misbah-ul-Haq **was the captain
