I wouldn’t say that we were completely lost, but the instability of the govt tenures to complete lays on the hand of the governor generals and their “establishments”. Pakistan did produce a constitution, how imperfect it was, but ayub khan’s martial law was the final nail in the coffin for that constitution. You have to blame the governor general for imposing the martial law, though ayub khan could have refused him. Perhaps, ayub khan was also sick of the governor general *******apa with the elected representatives?
Ayub’s era was a golden era for our economy, but politically the one unit scheme did much political damage and ayub’s disregard of his own constitution by transferring power to yayha put a nail in the coffin of his own constitution! Bhutta’s damaging politics which not only was a reason for the separation of e. pakistan (an economic setback) but his later nationalization and ‘quote system’ stunted Pakistan’s growth where the south koreans became a trillion dollar economy following our 5 year plan from the sixties.

I am sorry for your comments , No one can say Qauid e Awam a looter even Zia could not claim that .
No one is perfect. Why we give our leaders status of prophets? Exempt from criticism. Everyone did mistakes. That should be discussed openly so that new generation can what had gone wrong in past, which lead us to current situation. There are critiques of Quaid e Azam and Liaqat Ali Khan too. They should also not be ignored

A wise person wouldn't have had nationalized pakistan's economy and would have tried to work things out with the bengalis, even if it meant that he had to sit in the opposition.
I would say that he was stubborn (brave!?...) and opportunist.

There is some difference in blames and critics .
Bhutto was not an angel ,many mistakes but he was a brave and wise person .
Blame or criticism. Let people decide by themselves. People are not the best judge when they elect you to assemblies, they are also the best judge when they decide who did right and who did wrong based on the information they come through and restricting their rights to such information with slogans 'we don't want trial of graves of falan and falan' is the biggest dictatorship IMO. We really need to get rid of this 'holy cow' attitude towards our dearest leaders.

It is not about Bhutto however Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto was Deewan/PM of Juna Gadh state , and normally such was given to those people and it is very notable that Juna Gadh state among two other small state Manawather and Mangrol joined Pakistan in 1947 but India occupied those on the claim of Hindu majority .
Now tell me if you know , Despite my Fauji background I could not know it .

I have not admired him , I wrote no word in his favor but he was second of our Qauid .
I am talking about his murder .
There were many weaknesses in him but he was a honorable devoted person . They killed him and read this again from a link .

Grand son of Nawab of Juna Gadh worked in my company at Dubai for years . He is still in Dubai , A real Khandani and gentleman .It was really an honor for me to have him there . He is still in Dubai . We discussed several times the history of Juna Gadh . I know personally many others from JunaGadh and there was never a blame about this . There is a history of brave father of Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto and I posted it once at Paklink . It is very easy to blame here but please at least post a link for this . This is your moral responsibility as a mod here . Otherwise I hope a courage of 'sorry'
