Shahbaz Taseer killed in drone attack in Shawal in 2012 : Taliban sources
PESHAWAR (INP): Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer was killed in a drone attack in Shawal valley of the North Waziristan tribal area, in 2012, claimed Taliban sources.
They further claimed that the son of Salman Taseer was buried in the Shawal area on the same day. The Jirga that was making hectic efforts to get Shahbaz Taseer released has also returned hometown in sheer disappointment, the sources added.
The sources confirmed that Talban are now shifting the abductees to the areas where chances of drone attacks are at higher to use them as human shield.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shahbaz Taseer was kidnapped from Lahore on August 26, 2011. He had left his house from Cavalry Ground in his car (LZT-1) for his office around at 10:15 am. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore said his car was intercepted by a black SUV and motorbike around 600 yards from the office and up to three men dragged Taseer out of the car and took him away.

Re: Shahbaz Taseer abducted from Lahore
^ you have just refreshed my memory, is there any update on Gilani's son? why does our media go all quite after a while? these are all still live and burning issues that the government should be keeping in the forefront. Hamas abducted Gilad and it was on the news for years until his release
Re: Shahbaz Taseer abducted from Lahore
Very sad news. Just hope it is not true
Re: Shahbaz Taseer abducted from Lahore
Here is my question - why are we trusting Taliban & kidnappers when they said the he got killed in " drone strike"?

They probably want to rally support against drone attacks? But then they should've let everyone else visit the site for confirmation in that case. Their burial of makes the case suspicious.

Pakistan militants admit kidnapping former Prime Minister’s son - World News
By Mushtaq Yusufzai, Producer, NBC News
PESHAWAR, Pakistan - A Taliban-linked militant group claimed responsibility Tuesday for the May 9 kidnapping of the son of ex-Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
The Al-Mansoorian Brigade said it was still holding Ali Haider Gilani, who was grabbed at gunpoint at a political rally in Punjab province.
“He is with us,” brigade spokesman Abu Yazeed Mansoor told NBC News, adding that Gilani was “safe and sound.”
Gilani, who was a member of his father’s liberal PPP party, had been running for a seat in the Punjab provincial assembly.
His father served four years as Prime Minister of Pakistan but was ousted in June 2012 as part of a Supreme Court ruling that disqualified him from office after he refused to re-open corruption charges against then-President Asif Ali Zardari.
The Taliban has previously said it would disrupt the activities of “secular” parties in Pakistan.

^^^ Pakistan has to make a conscious decision to go after foreign terrorists and their local backers. Ruthless and brutal forces is the only thing they will understand...
