Seriously, incidents like these prove that pakistani people are never going to be tolerant of others opinion! sucks to be someone who likes to speak their opinion, or do have some hope for justice in pakistan. Really sad. Hope people grow out of their maulana ki chamchagiri phase.

when you rape your country left right center day and night and you drive million dollar cars with the poor man's money, i think it's fair to say, nobody gives a ! about this kidnapping. this just goes to show, even the elite and corrupt are not safe. they should learn a lesson from this.

and this attitude of mine is the result of these corrupt people's brutalities on my loved ones!

Just driving a fancy car means you have raped the country. Has it even occurred to you that people can have legitimate business in Paksitan and can still be wealthy. Salman Taseer sold his "World Call" for 400 miilion dollars. All this is documented.. tax paid.. legitimate business success story in a country like Pakistan.

You may or may not like slain Governor's political affiliation.. may not like his views on blasphemy laws.. you have every right to like or dislike someone. But you have no right to glorify crime against someone. You can not glorify someone's murder based on his opinion. You can not glorify someone' kidnapping and still consider yourself a civilized human being deserving to live in a civilized society.. You can not pass sweeping statements of corruption on someone with no evidence. The fact is slain Governor was on of the largest tax payers in Pakistan.. always took pride in the fact that all his business interests are in pakistan.. and all of them were well documented and legal. He was never accused of any financial wrong doing ever by his most fierce political opponents even. Just because you saw a fancy car in on TV screen you started spitting hate against Taseers..

Taseer's have suffered a lot due to their opinion against present blasphemy law. For the sake of sanity in our society let's all pray for the safety of Shahabaz.

I don't understand this kidnapping, Taseer family was in lime light because of the murder of Salman Taseer on issuing controversial statement, the kidnappers couldn't be that stupid they didn't knew what would be the reaction? So why they kidnapped him? Ransom! seems to out of question here, with the highest level of authorities involved, ransom seems to be a far fetched dream!!! Business Jealousy as indicated by one of his manager is also out of question, what business man would be stupid enough to dig his own grave by doing this crime???

I hope that he return home safe and sound, but things seems to be bit complicated, the kidnappers knew whom they are taking as they let go the friend who was with him... so what is the motive? create pressure on the govt? defame the Pakistani govt? Show to the world that no body with liberal views is safe in Pakistan or might be an answer to the KIDNAP of the American???

There seem to be lot more in it....

^ i don't know the motive of who carried out the kidnapping but it has once again displayed the good governance of Khadim e aala...if you want to know who carried out the kidnapping maybe you should ask rana sanaullah, he might tell you

I won't rule that out but what would be the motive? release of Mumtaz Qadri? but isn't it too late and as far as i know, the trial is still on and the govt is party in the trial ( or it should be because it was Govt's governor who got killed)... pressurizing govt and then getting qadri released, i don't think that way Qadri would be able to live in Pakistan...

You can carry on with your allegations... please continue to say that the kidnappers were provided with the security by Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah was in the helicopter witnessing the whole operation.... or may be you can tell us that as of now, the Shahbaz Taseer is in Rai-wind and/or in the house of Rana Sanaullah... i wonder why you didn't said that???

**While Lahore’s security apparatus was being thoroughly criticised and questioned in the wake of the kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer, the late governor Salmaan Taseer’s son, Punjab’s Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif held court at the Karachi Press Club to express his concern at the state of Karachi.

Sharif expressed a great deal of shock and horror at the security conditions in Karachi. “In the past three days I have met with businessmen, entrepreneurs and intellectuals.” Sharif said Karachi is the ‘gateway to and heart of Pakistan’ and pivotal to the country’s economy, and its problems needed to be resolved since this was “difficult, but not impossible”.

His solutions involve depoliticising Karachi’s police force, and conducting a “ruthless operation” against extortionists and criminals.**

Sharif said his visit to Karachi was to meet citizens and understand their issues. “Lahore and Lyari, Gujranwala and Gwadar, Hazara and Hyderabad…. They all have intimate connections,” said Sharif, calling Karachi the ‘mother’ city that took in residents of its ‘brother and sister’ cities.

Sharif tried to create an air of camaraderie with the press corps, rattling off a few sentences in Sindhi with a reporter for a Sindhi television channel, and joking with others.

**Even though the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) is not popular in Karachi, Sharif hopes to change that and acknowledges his party was not able to play an active role in the province.

His security detail comprised Punjab police officers, which a reporter questioned, asking if he did not trust the Sindh police.** Sharif shot off his reply – “Of course I trust the Sindh police”.

As soon as the press conference wrapped up, Sharif, Sanaullah and their security detail – comprising men clad in suits – and a coterie of police vehicles, sped away in seconds.

I don't think Mumtaz Qadri is important for these people. They just want to terrorize whoever is against their mentality.. There are many outfits particularly operating in Punjab who kidnap, attack as mobs, and carry out every sort of crime behind the facade of religious organizations to keep people terrorized.. so no one can talk or expose this criminality..!!!

Attacking shrines and mosques particularly Qadiani mosques, mob attacks on industries, kidnappings etc etc are all done by these groups. The provincial government does not take any action against these criminals because they do not want to earn their animosity. Rather they collaborate with these criminals for electoral gains.. Just like in Karachi, these so called religious gangsters/criminals are in fact protected by politicians..

The links between sanaullah and the banned outfit are not hidden, and its a fact as to how many of these criminals have been arrested in punjab todate

There are 4 reasons that the media is highlighting that could be the cases:

- He was again & again asked to drop the case of his father's murder which he did not.
This seems to be a logical reasoning since his father was considered blasphemous & the extremists decided to handle him as well. Shehryar Taseer,his brother, also told that his family was being threatened from 10th August from Taliban & extremist parties.

- The family had major disputes with a real estate over property
The level of this dispute isn't clear as yet but even if this is the case lets just hope that the kidnappers are caught

*- An alleged girlfriend's issue **
Which i doubt is true because yeah he is married but i don't think any girl would be in the power to carry out such a proper planned abduction)*

- Ransom
I so do not believe this could be the reason since they themselves came in a Land Cruiser, left his 3 smart phones, his IPad & laptop in car. They owned Kalashnikov, they cannot be some small parties planning an abduction.

No matter what opinion he had, no matter what opinion his father had, we are no one to judge them. Allah is a better judge. For me, I just really really hope that he returns home safe .. cuz he is some one's husband, brother, son.. till he is away or God forbid in the worse case, its a terrible trauma to go through & that of course goes for every family that goes through it. Please do pray for his safety & all the others who are in similar situations. May God keep every one's loved ones safe.
