Shahbaz Sharif's daughter gets bakery sweeper beaten

Re: Shahbaz Sharif’s daughter gets bakery sweeper beaten

I am not disputing that BB and NS both failed and that the 1990’s was the worst period for Pakistan as we started following behind Indian in this period thanks to BB and NS.

My point is that if the country is failing and we are headed for a revolution, the army then steps in and just does some cosmetic surgery leaving the cancer intact. You need to read the next few words very carefully. The problem in Pakistan is not of the personalities but the actual issue is of the system. A faulty system if it is not corrected will produce faulty leaders.

What we need in Pakistan is wholesale reforms in the system to make it viable. The army does not touch the faulty system and just addresses the symptons. So although temporarily we may feel happier the cancer is still active beneath the surface and reappears as soon the army disappears. Also involvement of the army in running the country is corrupting the institution.

What we need are true leaders who are not afraid to make the difficult choices. We need people who can take on the status quo head on. We need reformers. That is leadership.

If Ayub, Zia or Musharraff had succeeded in their roles then you would not be asking for the army to takeover now. Since you are asking for the army to takeover means that the army has failed in the past.
