Re: Shahbaz Sharif on the Move

shahbaz is the man who can get things done. he is the best person to be the CM of Punjab. I love it how he just goes out there and fires people whenever he hears about any foul play or corruption! thats exactly what we need, an able administrator.

Please dont mention the name of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in any such list .His killer Zia could not present any corruption charges agaist him.Even no allegation is ever made against him. He was not a angel and their should be many mistakes but no corruption charges.Remember Nawaz Sharif and** Shahbaz Sharif has pleaded guilty and and surrendered their property for courrpition charges leveled against them and than flew away after an agreement.Nawaz Sharif claimed that that agreement was for **5 **years but other said that it was fir **10 years.

Shahbaz Sharif does have a good administrative ability. It would be nice for him to reach out to places like Sindh or have some disciplined people working on development in the rural areas over there. Im not too sure about Qaim Ali Shah management style but mabye he can get a few tips from him.

Now they are again set with Peoples Party. What we doing here ?

Aalsi is right in quoting that the Presidential Order does indeed combines CM and PM office for term limits.

CM has probably some valid legal reasonings as to why the whole deal is unconstitutional.

And though..

I personally think term-limits is a good idea in mature democracies to ensure leaders don’t become dinosaurs and fresh leadership keeps coming up.

However…

I am absolutely appalled that they mixed the offices of CM and PM in term limits. Makes no sense. Its part of natural progression that a person is CM of a province for 2 terms, and then moves on to larger national ambitions, and tries to become PM of the whole country. While setting up term limits, why mix the two in combo for term limits?* Sometimes our dictators and their legal cheelay chamchay go way over-board, even when embarking on an otherwise nobel cause. Blah!!

  • Just as an example of some democracies, I don’t think UK has any term limits (someone correct me) for PM. In US, while there are separate term limits for certains Mayors, Governors and President, terms are not combined or mixed to determine term limits.

Faisal bhai, whole of this 17th amendment is piece of crap which has turned Pakistan Parlimentary Democracy System into Presidential Form of Government. It should be eradicate as its against the spirit of 1973 Constitution.

BD is now doing better than us.

Re: Shahbaz Sharif on the Move

What better,Transparency report says, most corrupt country of the world.Rauf Klasra of Jang Group a week ago came from there where he saw almost all roads are broken , worst transport system ,bus comes after 45 min. , infra-structure , no defence useage but corruption of Mujeeb and later on Sh.
