At least something they have learnt during their recent partnership with Zardari league, or is it a reincarnation of “Jaag Punjabi jaag”.
In a jalsa today Shahbaz sharif has claimed that no load shedding is being carried out in karachi. The bigger province is being indiscriminately targeted being punjabis.
SS & N League claims that the power generation projects were delayed due to lack of sovereign guarantee from centre.
Is this sovereign guarantee is required for solar power projets aswell?
^ his assertion is that karachi has electricity while punjab is being deprived. When punjab gave its share to smaller provinces (as a part of NFC award) the same shahbaz sharif touted it as a sacrifice by the bigger brother. If PMLN can help reinstate judges couldn't they create enough pressure on the government to issue those sovereign guarantees? My understanding of the issue is that they were not interested in resolving the issue as they wanted to use it for their re election.

Pakistan's power generation capacity is beyond its requirements, at 20,000 MW. The problem with lack of electricity is not power generation, it is payment of bills. However, Punjab govts priority was metro bus which would benefit 1/4th population of lahore, and laptop scheme, which would be used as a bribe. They were not interested in paying off power companies, so that power companies could begin generating electricity.
Ummm I have people in Karachi (ok I know people not to sound all mafia :D ) and Karachi does have long spells of loadshedding. Talk about pulling facts of your a$$$. As for capacity, the extra capacity is coming from thermal projects which are the most expensive electricity in Pakistan. Pee Pee Pee last "electricity revolution" in the nineties was also linked to these RPPs (also zardari's bank accounts :D ) which is why we have never really got rid of this problem. Can anyone tell me of any projects that were started on the ground in the nineties or now like wind mills, dams or coal plants by the Pee Pee Pee govt?
