So, there are some girls out there like me that can’t just get up and buy 10 let alone 1 mac eyeshadow because of the ridiculous high prices! I use drugstore brands and if you use a primer on your lid before using the cheaper shadows it really makes the colors pop and lasts very long. I used the coastal scents 88 palette colors on my eye for a recent cousins wedding and it lasted me through the evening. So think twice before buying expensive shadows.. Well, I knew something not because I am smart but very observing. I found this video online and when the lady revealed something that might shock some,I kinda knew it b/c I comapred some similar eyeshadow sites. Also, there was this one site that claimed to give cheaper mac eyeshadow palettes too good to be true and guess what?! They werent really mac but the same manufacturer of the cs shadows.

Wow. I am very very disappointed. All these sellers claiming that their eyeshadows are their own original products..chee chee. How sad. It all comes from China anyways. My cousin bough the bh 88 palette and says she likes it but its not as pigmented as she'd like unless she uses a primer which is not bad..but I wish these companies wouldn't do this..I wish there was only one seller for this product with affordable prices instead of us having to decide which "one" is the best brand when in fact they are all the same!

It's seriously old news that all these companies get the same palettes from China and has been mentioned on GS many times. Even when it was only CS (before BH and the other brands), people knew it was nonsense that they claimed to make their own shadows and that they came from China.
They have their uses if you want to have every colour but I don't think they are replacements for MAC shadows which come in more finishes and have more depth.
Well not all of us are makeup experts k..and I hadn't thought about or touched shadow since last year..I honestly had no desire for it until my sister wore it and gave me "shadow fever"..lol. I love shadows now but I can't afford MAC colrs in every color. I have 2 mac colors thanks to my mom (they broke in the 4 small palette b/c I traveled alot with them but its mostly my fault) I bought the 88 palette and it works and looks great on me not that I have any skill on application. I would rather get 88 colors for less than $50 and have them slightly I repeat slightly less pigmented than MAC. If I had extra money I would pay bills, wouldn't we all? And if I had money after that then I would buy mac shades..I am tired of people asking me what possessed me to buy cs products rather than save my money for MAC and once people saw me at parties they have stopped saying that and now say "what, thats CS eyeshadow on your eyes? I only use MAC and or Sephora but your eyeshadow looks pretty good" I am so happy with it..My cousin bought hers first and recommended it to me when I complained on not having enough money for MAC and I got mine and wear it to work sometimes and then parties. Ladies, feel free to save money for rent, food, bills and buy the cheaper cs/bh palettes! (Unless you get a huge bonus from work get the cs/bh ones)

I was talking about the girl in the video btw. The way she acted was like ~omg look at me being super smart~ when she's just said the same thing as in a hundred other youtube videos and in forums.
I'm not saying they are bad shadows. If you want decent shadows and a lot of them, then they are fine.
I think that palette is owned by most people now so I don't know who would ask what possessed you.
But it seems to be an addition for most, not replacement of shadows by MAC or whoever.

I replace them yes b/c of the money issue but I must admit..I went to my cousins wedding last year and b/c my cousin hired a makeup artist to do all the girls I used her and she used MAC and made me look better than I am. I only used her b/c I was the MC at the wedding and wanted to look good in front of the camera and couldn't have done my makeup that well. I wouldn't have minded if she did as great as a job using any cheaper product as long as she used primer and took her time.

very interesting, thanks for posting phooljari, but i have one question. I have never ordered from any of the sites selling these producst (CS, BH, or celia) but when i was browsing the celia site, i noticed that it didnt specify for all the palletes if they are shimmer or matte? i noticed only a few palletes had it listed but what about the rest? and what about their blushes? has anyone ordered from any of these sites to know? i wanna order, but i dont wanna end up with matte blushes, i hate those. i want em shimmery. any ideas ladies?

Ok ladies, help me out. I want to buy an eyeshadow palette, I was going to order the coastal scents 88 matte palette but if other companies are selling the exact same palette at cheaper prices, let me know which ones they are. Has anyone tried the 120 pro palette that a bazillion sellers are selling on ebay? I’ve watched coastal scents reviews and the colour pay off is awesome which is what I want. Many top makeup gurus on youtube recommend these palettes for beginners so I’m guessing the ingredients aren’t going to kill me if I use the palettes solely for practise purposes. Also, is it better to get the shimmer palette than the matte palette? And lastly, any good but cheap eyeshadow bases? I have the urban decay primer portion but I don’t want to waste it all on practising with these shadows. I’ve heard the NYX jumbo pencils do the job?

Yeah, this is kind of old news but another thing, MAC doesnt have ready-made palettes unless they are Limited Edition and at max you’d get around 4 eyeshadows so it’s more a quad than a palette. Of course those that know a bit about MAC wouldn’t fall for a MAC palette, knowing they dont make them.
I personally haven’t tried these palettes, I prefer to save up and buy better quality ones and plus, having all those color choices would freak me out, lol. I would recommend you trying the palettes off eBay considering they’re from the same distributor and you’ll pay less shipping too. And a good practice primer is ELF primer. Then there is one by NYX too, comes in a pot. Too Faced has a primer in a tube, like Urban Decay (works exactly like UDs primer too) which is for $18, so cheaper than the UD one. And yes, NYX Jump pencil in Milk does a good job but use it very sparingly as it is a cream so it will naturally crease. I still use UDs primer potion under my NYX pencils.

I like the Naked Palette/NYC by Urban Decay, then there is also ready-made palettes by Too Faced which I love. And of course MAC singles are great too. But I guess it never hurts to have those 88 palettes b/c you might just end up needing a color you dont have.
