Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

:lajawab:

iA for sure!

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

ok i just saw this and i’m drooling!

could i rock this outfit as it is with an eggplant dupatta or will that look too patched-together? of course, i could just change the bottom bit to eggplant also… hrm.
and i’d make the bottom longer in length and without the silly pearls at the end. and the shirt neckline/shoulders would be different.

would this work with a traditional gharara- i.e. shorter grey shirt, eggplant gharara?

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

I love that shirt you posted above.

This is how grey and eggplant would look together:

How about pairing it with a mustard dupatta with eggplant patti all around and grey and pink kaam on it. The bottom can be two-toned with grey at the thighs and turning into mustard just near the calves with the merest hint of eggplant as it ends.

I also think this two-toned turquoise would also look fab with grey. I would still put in a bit of yellow/mustard with this pairing, too.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

The colour change I mentioned above would be kind of similar to the white/red lehnga below.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

^ would that shaded bit work in a gharara though?

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

I think it would. This one cane can easily be imagined in grey with a different colour at the bottom.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

^ i LOVE the bottom of that gharara! is that fabric georgette chiffon? thats what i want to use for my gharara too.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

That is a crepe silk gharara embellished with zardozi work.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

^ is crepe silk better than georgette chiffon?

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

A crepe silk gharara would have just one layer of fabric that has been worked upon. A georgette chiffon would have two layers (the linning and the georgette chiffon worked layer). It depends upon you which type you want.

^ You are brilliant!
I want the georgette chiffon :)

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

Ok, so the fabric and style of the shirt are decided. Have you finalized the colours?

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

i think i'll get an outfit made in yellow/grey/pink but i think the gharara i'm getting is going to be the Chinyere purple/blue one, except I'm going to make the bottom of that one grey. so dark purple shirt, paler purple dupatta and silver/grey gharara.

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

Sounds pretty! You can add plum/magenta to the edges to make it brighter.

wow. gorgeous outfit!**

yup i agree!

Re: Shades of Grey - Wedding gharara

mahi, whats the bottom of this gharara made of? its gorgeous! http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/80452/sharara-882.jpg

exactly my thoughts! its funny that this combo has come together visually because my scarf is this lovely rich maroon/dark pink color, my winter jacket is a dark purple (the perfect shade), but the hood on it is lined in shades of grey faux fur. so now i know for sure its going to be perfect!

of course then i saw this gharara, and now im debating a purple bottom and a grey top- http://www.paklinks.com/gsmedia/files/80452/sharara-882.jpg

what do you think, naqsa?
