Subj: The night of and the first day of Shaa’ban (PART 2)
Date: 10/29/00 1:04:00 AM EST

Salam Alykum,

… From Part-1:
Then Imam (AS) relating from the Messenger (SAAWAWS) as saying: In the first
day of Shaa’ban Iblees would send his helpers throughout the land and to different
horizons instructing them to exert their best to lure away worshippers in that day.
And Allah the Sublime the Glorified also sends his Angles throughout the land and
to different horizons to guide and support his servants. And all will be fortunate,
except those who reject and scorn, as those would become part of Iblees’s troops
and in his party…

(PART 2):
When the first day of Shaa’ban arrives, Allah the Glorified the Sublime would
command the gates of Heaven to open widely, then HE would command the tree
of Tubaa to lower its branches closer to this world, the caller of our Lord would
then call: O servants of Allah these are the branches of the tree of Tubaa , cling and
hold on to it so it would left you to Paradise. And these are the branches of the tree
of Zaqqoom, beware of it, as it would lead you to Hellfire. Then the Messenger
SAAWAWS said: I swear by the one who sent me with the truth as a messenger,
whoever engages any door of goodness he has held on to a branch of the branches
of Tubaa, and that would surely left him to Heaven. And whoever engages a door
of evil in this day he would have held on to a branch of the branches of the tree of
Zaqqoom which will in turn drag him to Hellfire.

Then the Messenger (SAAWAWS) said: Whoever volunteers a prayer to Allah in
this day has clung to a branch (of Tubaa) . Whoever fasts this day, has grabbed a branch.
Whoever mends a relation between a husband and his wife, a father and his son, a
relative and his relation, a neighbor and his neighbor, and stranger and another
stranger has clung to a branch. Whoever helps ease or left the difficulty of needy in
debt has held onto a branch. Whoever looked in his accounts and found an old debt
for a needy and forgave it has clung to a branch. Whoever takes on the caring
responsibility for an orphan has clung to a branch. Whoever guards the honor of a
believer from a foolish-obscene tongue has clung to a branch. Whoever reads the
Quran or part of it has seized a branch. Whoever sits to remember Allah, and thanks
HIM for his blessings and favors, has clung to a branch. Whoever visits a sick person
has grabbed a branch. Whoever treats his parents or one of them with kindness in
this day has clung to a branch. Whoever pleases his parents in this day after he had
angered them has seized a branch. And whoever engages any other door of the
doors of good in this day has clung to a branch (of Tubaa).

I swear by the one who sent me with the truth as a messenger, whoever engages
any door of the doors of evil and wrong in this day has grabbed a branch of the
branches of the tree of Zaqqoom, which will lead him to Hellfire. Then the
Messenger (SAAWAWS) said: I swear by the one who sent me with the truth as
a messenger, whoever slights a prescribed prayer and loses it has clung to a
branch of it; whoever was asked to help a poor person in this day, knowing that
this needy is in real hardship, and he was capable of helping without harming
himself, and there was no one else that can help instead; with all that he declines
to help and leaves the poor suffer or perish, he would have held on a branch.
Whoever was asked to forgive the fault of another and he rejects this request
demanding a harsher compensation than what he deserves for his suffering has
grabbed a branch. Whoever ruins the relation between a married couple, family
members, relatives, neighbors, sisters, and any other two has clung to a branch.
Whoever pressures someone in difficulty, knowing his straitened circumstances
and causing more hardship has clung to a branch. Whoever was in debt and
denied that debt oppressing the rights of the creditor has clung to a branch.
Whoever shuns an orphan, wrongs him, or unfairly seizes his wealth has grabbed
a branch. Whoever degrades the honor of his brother or encouraging others to
do the same has clung to a branch. Whoever sings and chants in way that
encourages committing sins has clung to a branch. Whoever sits and talks proudly
about his ill deeds in battles and the different ways of oppression that he has
inflicted on the servants of Allah has clung to a branch. Whoever neglects visiting
his sick neighbor belittling the rights one’s neighbors and the sick has clung to a
branch. Whoever slights and fails to participate in his neighbor’s burial ceremony
has clung to a branch. Whoever shuns a person in distress out of harshness,
arrogance, and disparagement has clung to a branch. Whoever was impious
toward his parents and did not try to please them in this day when he could have
done so, has grabbed a branch. And so, whoever engages a door of the doors of
evil has clung to a branch of it (Zaqqoom).

I swear by the one who sent me with the truth as a messenger, those who cling to
the branches of Tubaa, these branches would left them to Heaven. Then the
Messenger (SAAWAWS) raised his eyes looking up to the heavens and smiled
joyfully. Then He (SAAWAWS) lowered his sight down and started to frown
and gloom. Then He (SAAWAWS) turned to His companions and said: I swear
by the one who sent Mohammed with the truth as a messenger, I saw the tree of
Tubaa razing its branches and those who clung to them with it to Heaven; some
were holding one branch while others were holding on to two or more relative to
the different types of good they have done. And I saw Zaid bin Harithah holding
on to a general of its branches while it was raising him up to its highest point; for
that I was pleased. Then I looked towards the ground; and I swear by the one
who sent me with the truth as a messenger, I saw the tree of Zaqqoom lowering its
branches along with those who have clung to them to Hellfire. And I saw some
who have grabbed one branch while others were holding two or more, matching
in that the different types of evil they have committed. And I saw some of the
hypocrites holding the general of its branches dragging them with it lower to its
lowest points and for that I frowned.
