Is it true that Shab-e-Barat, ie, the mid of Shaban is the night when angels marks by the will of Allah SWT whoz going to die in this year until next shaban…and whoz gonna born?..
i have heard alotta people talking about it…But is there a Hadeeth concerning this..?

MsXquisite: That is what i have heard. That on the night of Shab-e-Barat, leaves fall with the names of people who are going to die and born.
It is scary. I guess tonight (Shab-e-Meraj) would be a good time to pray and ask forgiveness for all our sins. Because, InshaAllah Shab-e-Barat is coming up on Sept. 19.

our Arab brotheren find the ahadeeth about Shab-e-Bir'at as weak. We, the sub-continental, on the other hand find the ahaadeeth authentic and follow them.
And just to correct you, the word is Bir'at which means salvation

We in the subcontinent find a lot of stuff authentic, from celebrating eid milaads to call on others, besides Allah, in our duas.
Seriously speaking i would'nt trust any desi mullah, except for A. A. Maududi and his student Dr. Israr Ahmad.
