Why the quality is so low in evening newspaper… even some people feel embarrassed while taking names of these papers… Jaanbaaz, Evening Special.

Do the newspaper owners cater separate target audience for morning and evening dailies? and apparently they seem to consider readers of evening paper as more chaske baaz.

Is this low quality of evening papers a universal trend or its just Pakistan that we got evening papers full of gossips, titli aashna ke sath bhag gai, type news.

They also cover raid operations on brothel houses with pictures of women in business...

Shaam kay akhbaar ka rivaaj sirf Pakistaan main ho ga.

Shaayad Paksitaaniyon kay paass faarigh waqt bohut hota hai ya phir vo paRhaaii likhaaii ka ziyaada shauq rakhtay hain. :)

Yeah…women in those pictures are also wearing low neck kameez… shaam ka akhbar uses those chat pati news and sell paper… :5:

There is a similar trend in news stories here as well. For some reason, many of the evening "news" stories tend to be rather frivolous and tabloid-ish. I have heard people state that the reason for this is that newspapers assume that, by the evening, people are worn out and would prefer to read "lighter" news stories and that having such stories will attract readership. I do not think that is entirely accurate though.

I still remember one HUGE headline: "HAZAROON KO SADMA ....." The news was about secondary school examination results.

These types of captioned are common on Pakistani News channels.
