shaam-e-ghareebaan is the night of the helpless/mazloom(or something like that)…it is the 11th night(not day, rememebr islamic day starts at maghrib)…and it’s said that after teh day of ashoora and after the martyrdom of most of the men in the army of the Holy Prophet (saw)'s grandson Hz. Hussein(ra), their tents were burnt down and their women and children were taken captives…lights are switched off during maghrib time till late, and candles are lighted(to symbolise the tents on fire, i guess)…i havent heard of tht orgy myth and personally know no such thing takes place, and it’s probably dveloped out of hatred for the twelver shias(not all shia’s comemorate this night/evening)…what does take place is mourning..
when u talk about the literal meaning, it means something else…but when u’re talking about this particular subject(ie sham-e-ghareebaan) then it means the women and children of the Prophets(saw)'s household and the other soldiers fighting with them..
attacking others beliefs in general isnt a very good thing, and since u’re acting in the same way as the people who made claims of this orgy thing, u shouldnt be offended yea?
