I think both benefit from shade ...it is a matter of living and sharing everything and at the part of life where you are alone and old you need anyone to be with you ,to share your thoughts and problems etc ...a husband need a wife to have a family and family life , wo kya kahtay haiN na ke gaar thu gaar wali se banta hai naa :-)
i think marraige is a blessing from Allah, its a compulsary part of ones life. faida dono ko hota hai, mian ko bhi aur biwi ko bhi.. its the lifes most fun part one can have.. come to think of it.. isn't it awesome that two ppl (mature ppl) with their own set of thinking, get together, either love marriage or arrange marriage, and in most cases they get to know each other get so comfortable with each other.. to me its a blessing from Allah :)
if both ppl don't benefit from it, the whole institution of marriage is useless :) the only diff is, HOW they benefit from it...its diff for the wives, and diff for the hubbies...thats all :)
i think both partners benefit from marriage.... sure their responsibilties increase dramatically... but both gain a lot out of it..
im not married.. but what ive seen from my married friends is:
females: gain independance, maturity, trust in the opposite sex, responsibility, confidence..
males: responsiblity, confidence.. find it easier to talk to females, more caring, maturity.
hmm i guess they both gain the same thing... but yeah i find that most of my female friends are more independant now and got loads of confidence...:)
oh i forgot to mention... security
hmm.. looks like all married ones are not looking at this post..I am married and it really changes ones life.. responsibilty and care all come along.. was too careless am still but a bit less now.. awara gardi have to be more restricted.. plus after kids life is totally changed.. my 4 months old has turned around the whole house.. and its fun.. though my wife is out of town for 2 weeks so :bhangra: change is always good !
Some really interesting replies.
I'd agree with most of the comments posted so far: Both should benefit from it equally, but in their own ways.

what about the one for the green card?? :D
All nicely put, about how it should be. and I agree with most of the replies. But what often happens in reality, is that the husband gets a free maid, cook, nurse, secretary all in one and doesn't really appreciate it and takes it for granted.
^ hehe true sadya...
but then in that case the wife gets a handyman, plumber, mechanic, tv fixer, fridge fixer, car fixer, grocery man, vegie man, meat man, etc etc in one as well (and u know what.. it doesnt matter if the hubby knows how to do that or not... he'll stil do it) hehehe
lol sadzzz
reminds me of an uncle of mine, who always 'fixes' everything in and around the house himself, somehow he never hires a professional first, he wants to try himself and almost always he makes things worse, then usually afterwards he still has to hire a professional

I bet he’s punjabi !! isn’t he?!? ![]()
yes Muniya :(
and you think only Punjabis are lazy ![]()
I don’t want to but I’ve heard these complains from dunno how many women and their husbands are punjabi…I even heard a punjabi woman say “Punjab kay mard kuch help nahi karte ghar kay kaamo mai…” (her husband is punjabi too)…I’m not saying it’s true about all punjabi men but I guess a lot of them are like that(heard so) or maybe these women are lying…![]()
You husband is punjabi, right?? I’m sorry if I guessed wrong…![]()
