Im afraid slaves do exist, there are a few small areas of Pakistan where you can find some and a few areas of africa, these have ben in the news recently because one of the more affluent slave owners let his go free.
there was reason for it but ive forgotten (i think it was either because he heard it was not Islamic (he was Muslim or he would get a grant or something from a world organistation...or both).....happened in march I think.
if anyones interested or wants me too look it up, I will.
