Some people, instead of admitting that they have a problem in their backyard ALWAYS go around saying things like “Oh but they’re worse than us” as if that makes it all better, and of course they have no empirical evidence to show that “They” are in fact worse than “us”.

Afridi, you don't get my point, I didn't say that it's worse in one place than another, YOU claimed that it is worse in the west, on what grounds, I don't know. Just because it's more open in the west doesn't mean it's worse, there are things that go on in Pakistan that go on unreported or unadvertised. So, it is essentially impossible to say whether it's worst in the east or the west, and my point is that that isn't even relevant. It just bugs the $hit out of me when something bad is pointed out about Pakistan that people automatically go "Oh but it's worse in the west" and more times than not they have no evidence to back up their statements.

It happens but not as rampant as some ABCDs will lead u to believe.

It's always sad to find out that these things are happening in Pakistan BUT don't be naive to say that "THEY" are NOT worse than us, things in Pakistan are NO WAY as bad as west and they will never be.

If you want examples, next time you're in Pakistan, go ask the maid about how many masters have sex with their servants, and how often times, it's both father and son who are after them. Ask anyone with servants about how the male and female servants hook up, even though they are not married. Go to any private school, and ask the guys about their girlfriends, and how they sneak into their bedrooms at night for a good time after the gharwallay are asleep. Go to any restaurant in Defense and Gulberg and see the hundreds of unmarried couples out on a date. Ask the wealthy begums about their affairs with college boys when their husbands are abroad for work. Go out late at night in Lahore, and see how bustling the Heera Mandi is. Go to Data Darbar, and see with your own eyes the women from various villages ready to prostitute themselves. As a matter of fact, go to Gulberg and check out the male prostitutes being picked up by men for a sex act. Read the women's newspapers (try You from Jang--it's online), and read about the 22 year old who is unmarried, but pregant with her boss' kid. Or about the hundreds of teenybopper who regret getting intimate with their internet lovers. Read any Urdu paper about hundreds of rape cases, particularly the rapes of little girls that go unsolved. It's out there, you just have to be aware. See the Sunday section of the Dailytimes and look at how wasted the people are, sharab in one hand, ciggy in another, and a strange man's arms around them. They even wrote an article last year about how they get phone calls from women on Monday mornings crying and begging them not to use their photos because they were with men who weren't their husbands, drinking, and they don't want to get in trouble at home. Or how one of their regular writers complains about the party scene--that the men go home with a different woman each night, it's an all out meat market, and groping is the national sport. Ask anyone about how wife swapping and key parties are gaining popularity amongst the uber-wealthy there.
Afridi, I hate to burst your bubble, but all this trash is in Pakistan. My point is that it's hidden from plain view, but it's still there.

And sneaking into bedroom .........its very uncommon, very very uncommon. The posh areas have security guards and fenced houses, in poor areas, the girls don't get a separate bedroom.
Yep i agree, that's what i meant that things are bad there but it's not even FRACTION of what ABCD's or westerners do, we have a huge family there and i know their lifestyle, it's almost impossible for them to get invovlved in such things.

How can ANYONE say where it’s worse? Have there been any studies done? Are there any stats? Or are these just your personal biases? One simply can NOT just say it’s worse in one place or the other unless some studies are done. So while you keep claiming it’s worse in the west, I’ll just sink to the same level and say it’s obviously worse in the east. In fact, sexual crimes aren’t even prosecuted in the east, there, how’s that for a generalized statement?

Aahmed, you and I are on the same page. I think it's the pinnacle of hypocrisy that people use the refrain "Oh, well, it's worse in the west" as an excuse for all the nasty behavior that goes on in Pakistan. Pakistanis often "claim" to be more moral than westerners, but the reality is that that's not true. I know that's hard for desis to swallow, since many of them live in these insulated bubbles. My point is simply that don't be fooled by outward appearances, there's plenty of badmashi under the surface.
And Sara, I also agree with you 100%---I LOVE (and I say that with the utmost sarcasm) the logic that "Oh yeah? Well, ABCDs are loose" as a response to any criticism of Pakistani behavior, despite the fact that that's not true.

it's not because things are worst in other places that you should not acknoledge the things happening in pakistan.
it's not by allowing sex that you make it more attractive!
in fact there is a newest trend here in the west: the No secx life, a lot of people are sick of seing naked girls on tv and ads, and sex life being advertised so shamelessly, so they decide to abstain from sex, and put their life goal somewhere else...
there is also awareness about STDs , though condom exist, STDs are rather tricky, and frightening, so some people also abstain from sex for that reason.
last but not least, don't get an image by the display people, display people in pak make it seem like a backward country where every other girl get either gang raped or acid burn, and we all know it is NOT true!
same with west, every other girl is NOT a ***** strolling the streets half naked, going to bars and clubs to get a different sex partner each night!
these people that attract media covers are exceptions, not the rule!
