Aahmed, you and I are on the same page. I think it's the pinnacle of hypocrisy that people use the refrain "Oh, well, it's worse in the west" as an excuse for all the nasty behavior that goes on in Pakistan. Pakistanis often "claim" to be more moral than westerners, but the reality is that that's not true. I know that's hard for desis to swallow, since many of them live in these insulated bubbles. My point is simply that don't be fooled by outward appearances, there's plenty of badmashi under the surface.
And Sara, I also agree with you 100%---I LOVE (and I say that with the utmost sarcasm) the logic that "Oh yeah? Well, ABCDs are loose" as a response to any criticism of Pakistani behavior, despite the fact that that's not true.
Person A: "There's too much revenge rape in Pakistan"
Person B: "Oh yeah? ABCDs are sl*ts!"
Person A: "It's really wrong that women are mistreated in Pakistan"
Person B: "That's not even a fraction of what ABCDs do!"
