There is a convicted pedophile in a Masters program in my university. They sent out an alert, but didn't disclose any identifying information. Kind of scary, since there is a child care center on campus.

^^ that book was more about a childhood lost - and the way a family copes/does not... rather than the incident itself. That was my take on it anyway.
