Hi, I'm in similar situation as you, but not so similar. So i understand exactly what you mean and how you feel. Don't worry about the romantic stuff at this moment, don't worry. Just chat to her about everything else and she will eventually bring up things herself. Just give it time :) That is what I found.
And the people who are sooo uptight about speaking to a girl on the phone "romantically", calm down. He is not here to get a religious fatwa, I'm sure he knows what is right and what is wrong in Islam. As long as he harms no one he can do what he wants. He did not ask anyone "is this right", he asked something different.
The people who are so uptight, really need to live in the real world and not in this imaginative world where no one feels anything, no emotions, no desire and no hormones. If he needs you're guidance on life he will ask someone.
So ye don't worry mate, just talk normally and she will bring stuff up where you can clearly see she is opening up. Don't rush these things, it will happen.

lol yeah! I know she'll miss her country and her family. She's never spent a day apart from her parents or siblings, so it will be tought. But hopefully I can keep her happy enough that she'll be content here :)

Well its not like you're not going to visit pakistan ever once youre married and back in Australia right? I believe it'll be very different for her though :( Does she know anyone in Australia besides you?

I'll be visiting Pakistan for sure :) Well besides me, she knows my family LOL but I'm sure thats what you had in mind too. So no, she only knows us :( but I'll still always put her first so she dosen't feel at all like shes alone in a different country.

Well I'd be living a joint family system so she'll have everyone at home. Well she'll have mum atleast LOL although that may not always be a good thing. If she wants to work or take up some classes of any kind I'd be more than happy for her to do that :)

There are HEAPS of Pakistanis here. Well atleast in Sydney. Nah you're not being racist. It's like in Pakistan when you see a white person. "OMG GORAS!"

I thought there was a lot of Pakistanis in Melbourne? and lots and lots of oriental Asians in Sydney? oh and greeks.

Sydney is pretty multicultural. More so than Melbourne (from what I've heard) Sydney has alot of Pakistanis. Also a high majority of the food joints in Sydney are halal :)

I was wondering about that. thats why I was considering melb because I knew there was halal places.
but Sydney is really pricy compared to melb. It would be nice for my SO I think if there was more of a community and for me to be able to eat meat.. considering I can't ever go vegetarian.

YES THERE ARE! I LOVE HALAL PIES! Sydney is definetly more costly than Melbourne. One of the most expensive cities in the world I've heard. But there alot of halal joints and all the major poultry providers are now halal :)

yah I know its so expensive. I'm hoping that my SO and I can live in Sydney because then I'll be able to see my old friends. (I used to live on the central coast)
