What do you think of the celebs and politicians using Injunctions and Super-Injunctions for “privacy” reasons? I personally think that if a fairly private celeb wants to maitain privacy even if they have been having an affair then that is ok. We do not need to know each and everything about them do we?

Erm, yeh I was discussing this with my uncle the other day. I had never heard of 'injuctions' never mind 'super-injunctions' before. Is it just all the rage these days or is it the interweb that is causiing the epic fail of such injunctions?
How much do they cost? Do they even cost? Can I take out in injuction against my sister when she tells people silly stories about my life?

Celebrity super injunctions, the difficulties in invoking national laws in an international community are obvious. It's a little like how when I was little I used to think that wearing a hat meant no one could see my face.
edit to add; there are no doubt countless more out there we know nothing about, and thereby in those cases the injunctions work.

Giggs must have been very stupid to have allegedly bedded a fame hungry reality TV contestant. For many girls his downfall would be a a passport to fame.
I think it is easy to criticise him but must be very hard to live that sort of life where everything is handed on a plate to you.

I disagree. What exactly does a "celebrity" do? They're famous for being famous. They can't really expect privacy can they?
And especially in today's media world. In the 60s, it would have been considered rude to report on a politicians infidelity. Kennedy, for example, was constantly cheating on his wife but the media considered it an inappropriate topic. Fast forward to the 90s and Clinton...

It's around 10k for a celeb injunction darling, if these peoples had any sense they would sign a confidentiality agreement before delving into their shenanigans. Now that would be cheap as chips.

Maybe so but being famous brings with it responsibility, lots of little kids and football fans probably look up to Ryan Giggs, well, did. many people who want the fame go in to it knoiwing that they will be under public scrutiny after all.
