Sewing for beginners

Re: Sewing for beginners

Same here Reha!! My Ammi was a pro! She could knit, crochet, sew, quilt..all of it. Pretty much every Eid jora I ever had up until the age of 18 was home sewn by Ammi (and quite stylish too!). I have so many cute little knitted caps, sweaters, booties etc that she made for my babies..she even made the curtains for my eldest son’s nursery!

I am no where near that caliber, but I can do minor alterations, like turpayee (!). I once made my own duvet cover by stitching together two flat sheets :cb:

So who’s going to make the boob scarf and give their mum a heart attack

(I LOVE the dino hoodie)

Re: Sewing for beginners

I learned how to sew in my Family Studies class in high school. I can't make anything complicated, but I can operate a sewing machine.

Re: Sewing for beginners

I had already learned from my ammi at home so in family studies class I asked the teacher if I could sew my own design without a pattern rather than buying a pattern and following it like we were supposed to.

She was amazed at the end results.......was a bird course for me.
