well the henna paste they apply dries and then you wash it off and it leaves the pattern/colour behind. you usually leave it on overnight to get a nice, dark colour in the morning.

I don’t mind kids being at my wedding just as long as they behave. God forbid they throw a tantrum or run into something.

Will the children be interested in the wedding food? I think I should provide them with some kid friendly food…
in pakistan, kids eat what the adults eat. there really isn’t any concept of kid food, so don’t worry about this.

for food I was thinking of a Vegetable/Fruit platter, Vegetable dish, Meat dish, Briyani, Dessert, Cake with cupcakes and maybe sushi? (california rolls or something)
not sure if sushi is possible, unless you are hosting the event at a high-end hotel. regular caterers definitely don’t provide sushi as part of their menu. but also, i’m guessing most of the people at your wedding will not be sampling the sushi- its a pretty foreign concept- so it could go either way: it might be a great hit or people might avoid it entirely and it would get wasted. talk to your SO about what he thinks would fly with his people.
for cake and cupcakes, check with local bakeries or independent cake artists to see if they can accommodate you. shouldn’t be a problem though. the rest of the menu sounds good!

With drinks what do they normally serve? and would it be bad if I didn’t want soft drinks at my wedding?

For guests my SO has 4 siblings who are married do we send invites to their inlaws as well? I’m estimating about 300 guests most of which are going to be his family/friends.
yes, you would send invites to their inlaws too. at the very least to their mother and father in laws, if you don’t want to invite the entire family.

I don’t really want to offend anyone so should I stay put on the seat or can I walk around and talk?
on the valima, you can probably walk around and talk. for the shaadi, people generally want to ooh and aah over the bride so it might be best to stay put. in either case, check with your SO and your future MIL regarding their expectations and family etiquette.
