BAGHDAD: A car bomb blast killed three US soldiers in central Baghdad on Tuesday, while four more soldiers died in another explosion a day earlier, said the US military. In Tuesday’s attack, a bomb rigged to a parked car exploded next to an American convoy as it was patrolling central Baghdad, said US military spokesman.

… Separately, a homemade bomb destroyed a Bradley fighting vehicle late on Monday in Ramadi, injuring three US soldiers, two of whom returned to duty, while the third remained in a military clinic, said spokesman Sgt Jeffrey Pool.

In Arbil, Kurdistan Democratic Party official Abdel Ghani Ali Yahia said that 35 people were killed and 25 wounded in a double suicide car bombing late on Monday in Tal Afar…

… Meanwhile, another car bomb blast killed two Iraqis. Police said the car bomb exploded in a crowded street in Baghdad as a police patrol was passing injuring eight people.
… Iraqi and US forces detained 143 suspected insurgents, taking the number of people rounded up in a two-day offensive in western Baghdad to 428, the military said Tuesday. Operation Squeeze Play was launched late Sunday to catch militants.
