Of the 6 people who were burnt to death in this violence, 5 of them were MQM activists, including one 23-year old who had gotten married one day earlier.
Yesterday the MQM were terrorists, today it seems it it the MQM’s opponents are the terrorists, burning people alive. Which Pakistanis will sink terrible things tomorrow?

KARACHI: Out of six of the people, who were burnt at Tahir Plaza on April 9, five belong to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the total death toll of its activists has reached six. Nobody was an advocate among the dead, said Anwar Alam at a press conference by the MQM’s Rabita Committee at Nine Zero Thursday.
“The peace of the city is being disturbed in a well-planned conspiracy and we demand the president, prime minister, governor and chief minister hold an independent and neutral inquiry,” he demanded.
Sobia alias Gurya (w/o Shoaib Raza resident of Gulistan-e-Johar) and Razi Batool (w/o Nadeem Shaikh resident of Gulistan-e-Johar) were agents of the MQM during the polls for Hyder Abbas Rizvi and Faisal Sabzwari. Basit Mehmood was an activist of the MQM’s unit No 125 Orangi Town, a resident of Faiz-e-Aam Colony. Dawer Hussain wa an activist of MQM unit No 107 Shah Faisal Colony and a resident of Al-Falah Society. Saeed Akhter alias Danish was an activist of MQM’s unit No 107 Shah Faisal Colony. T

KARACHI: A young woman who was married a day earlier lost her husband and brother in the Tahir Plaza tragedy. Four out of the six victims were identified by their clothes, hair and mobile phones a day later on Thursday. Two women are still at the morgue
Twenty-three year old Saeed Akhtar alias Danish was married a day before his death. “My brother was very happy. We did not do anything wrong to anyone in our lives,” said his brother Ali at the Edhi morgue. “Why was our family victimized?”
Danish was the fifth of nine children in a relatively poor family of Sector 11.5, Irani Camp, Orangi Town. He started work in the embroidery business and got married to a girl he loved. According to Ali, Danish had gone out to get his Nikkah Nama so he could frame it in the house. He left at 12:30 p.m. with brother-in-law Dawar Hussain while the family prepared for the festivities. The elderly Dawar, a resident of Shah Faisal Colony also perished in the fire.
A while later Danish called and said he was stuck in the riots that broke out but then his cell phone was switched off. He was identified by his cell phone and trousers.
“I cannot believe he is dead,” said friend Farhan Ali outside the morgue. “It feels like he left for work and just hasn’t come back.”
The second victim who was identified was Chakiwara resident 33-year-old Makhdoom Altaf Abbasi advocate who owned the office on the sixth floor. He was identified by his brother Ghulam Qadir.
The third victim was identified as 23-year-old Basit Mehmood, a resident of Orangi Town. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has claimed that he is the brother of activist Zia Mehmood. His funeral prayers were offered near his house and he was buried at Jannat-ul-Baqi graveyard, Orangi Town with the MQM leadership present.
MQM also claimed Dawar Hussain was a supporter from Shah Faisal Colony’s sector. His funeral prayers were offered at Imam Bargah Rizvia and he was buried at Wadi-e-Hussain
