Setting up Eid decorations

Assalamualikum,

Usually on Eid I try to have a small get together of ppl at our home and I decorate our apt and setup dessert table. This year we are not having anyone over at our place but I would still like to decorate our apt. I will be busy with another event and will not have time for anything too elaborate. Any ideas of what I can do. Would love to really feel like it is still eid.

Re: Setting up Eid decorations

Lights, paper lantern garlands or a cluster of paper lanterns in different sizes and color.

My kid wants balloons!!Not sure why but she wants them to be green.I think I will get some balloons and pair them with some string lights and a banner. (I have one from two years ago and that was green too,so will go well with her green balloons).Plus, display our Eid cards.

Chipsie do you make your own eid cards or do you get them ?

Re: Setting up Eid decorations

She is 4 and we made them last year (basically to send them out) and will be making them this year too,iA.We use one or two of those and the rest we receive from family/friends.They are not a lot but enough to be displayed…

I found a website that makes Eid Cards. It’s called Tiny Prints. You can even upload a family picture to it. We are planning on buying those to send out to our families this year as we won’t be able to celebrate with them as my husband doesn’t have time off from work.

My brother and bhabi are very into decorating the house for Eid. From the dollar store they have purchaed hanging stars and swirls that you can hang from the ceiling (in sparkly and metallic material). You can make an Eid banner. At party stores you can now choose what letters you want on the banner and write out your message. I love the balloon idea. Maybe gold along with the green. I’m not sure if it’s true/right, but I have always associated dark green as the color of Islam. For night time, maybe some string lights as well.
