Those who work for the travel industry may be able to help me answer this question ‘Where do you start?’
Once you’ve got your premises, how do you become an agent for the airlines? Who do you register yourself with to become an agent?
Re: Setting up a travel agency
CM in US its a rather simple process, however, I see that you r in UK so things r obviously different there. I would recommend talking to a couple of desi travel agents about it, and see what they have to say. Additionally, travel agency business is one of the most cut-throat businesses as airlines have greatly decreased or even eliminated travel agent commissions, and you have to rely on the little margin that you can get from your customers. As far as registration goes, you get registered thru IATA.
A very smart way, if you are serious, would be to work at a travel agency as an employee for a few months, and then take it from there.
