Re: Setting Up a Brothel-House
No less than 95% of prostitutes do not enjoy prostituting themselves. There is a specific mentality that leads women toward these situations, and as such most prostitutes are victims of childhood sexual abuse or adult rape. It consistently infuriates me that people blame these women for their perpetual victimization (yes, I said it). The consent that they give toward selling their bodies is warped at best. It is commonplace (even in America), for pimps to find young, vulnerable women and groom them into the business. Most of these women have never known affection from a man, and if they have it has been their perception of affection through abuse. Pimps spend money on them, and the women equate money with love. Once they've gained their trust, they push them into the business. And once a woman experiences that betrayal, her feelings of being tainted worsen and she see's no escape. Many pimps are even known to look for potential women and have them gang raped-- which leads to the mentality where they sell themselves. Many of these women actively wish for death, and many commit suicide.
Men are perpetuating this problem. It is the men who feed the business, and thus perpetuate the victimization of these women. I won't even get started on shame based societies where women born into prostitute families have no other option but to sell themselves.
Stripping is hardly akin to selling your body. Women who strip are merely showing themselves, women who sell their bodies are having their physical autonomy taken from them. There is no comparison.
Prostitutes should not be punished. The men who use them should.
