LIke, for example, at a recent dawat, the hosts served: nihari, haleem, biryani, koftay, tandoori chicken, chicken shorba, mutton karhai, seekh kabab, chicken handi, raita, naan, salad, kheer, pineapple dessert. I think the first three items are stand alones, or at least shouldn’t be served together with each other…then there was way too much food. People were sticking to just a few items and there were degchis of a couple of items that remain untouched. Now wasn’t that a waste of time, energy and money?
So how many dishes should you serve at a dinner for let’s say 10 guests?
Wow that is alot! I think no matter how many people are coming the quantity should be enough…

My mom always used to make stuff like one rice dish (biryani or pulao) plus a salan…so i grew up thinking that was normal. Little did I know it was not
