Re: seriously, how many different ways would u spell 'bakwas' in english?
Bakvaas
All other spellings are incorrect because there is no W in Urdu,
Q corresponds to the Urdu Qaaf with the two eyes not to Kaaf in Bakvaas, there is no CK sound in Urdu, U is silly because there is a Zabar on the Bay not a Pesh and it is AA instead of "A" because there is an Alif between the V and S.
Re: seriously, how many different ways would u spell 'bakwas' in english?
^ so when u write CUP in urdu you would write it with a pesh on the kaaf????
and i always thought there is no V in urdu and waw actually is the equivalent for W, (hence u always see names like Waseem, and not vaseem, and Waris, and noth varis, etc etc)....
Re: seriously, how many different ways would u spell 'bakwas' in english?
smurf and armugul, nice linguistics talk.
Re: seriously, how many different ways would u spell ‘bakwas’ in english?
I guess they are all phonetically challenged! V is pronounced with ur lower lip touching your upper row of teeth which is how ‘vaow’ is pronounced too, w on the other hand is the one which has no equivalent in urdu. Many people in Pakistan mixup the pronunciation for v and w anyway, wow is vow, volkswagon would be wolksvagon and so on.
vatever!
