my sister hubby has applied for her a spouse visa its been 10 months but no progress..just they sent letter that your petition has been approved..and then nothing so far..so we thought we should try to get visa for her …
question is can we apply a visit visa or something like for her in usa embassy ..despite her visa process is going on ?

you cannot apply for any other kind of visa if one is already applied. She should get her visa in 2-3years after applying. My relatives with the same catagory came in US in that range of time. Unless the husband is sick, then you could appeal to the embassy and they could hurry.

One of my friends is trying to get permanent visa for Canada since last 2 years, she got married in 2007 and she is still in Pakistan. She also wanted to apply for visit visa but his husband's lawyer told him that he can't apply for 2 kinds of visa at a time so my friends has to wait.

he is not sick ..and i think sickness is not a solid reaosn as once our relative aunty applied a us visa when her daughtar was about to delive ra baby and they refused by saying this what will u do there doctors and nurses are enough to take good care of her and her kid lol
hmm but 2,3 yeras thats too much..one guy i know got letter in 7 months and then interview and all necesarry documentation and within a year he took his wife to usa

if its been approved by USCIS, her husband can get it pass through NVC in two weeks if he has all the documents prepared (Affidavit of support etc) so once the NVC sends it to Islamabad embassy and scheudle the interview date, its a matter of another 2-3 months (that is if he knows the tips and tricks to make the process quicker because now its in his hands) Rest assured, your sister will not go through administrative processing after the interview that is pretty much a routine for all males so she should be with her husband soon.
And no she can't get any visit, or student visa per se once she is processing the immigrant visa since rest of them are non-immigrant visas so dun even bother applying.. they will reject the application right away.
