I am writing this to get some feedback about this wierd issue i am having with the internet phone company vonage. I have had their service for about 3 yrs and now when i decided to cancel and get comcast, the local cable company, for my phone, they simply refused to close my account. I have called many times being put on hold for hours and once when i finally did endup talking to a rep… the idiot kept refusing to close and kept offering me this and that.. later when i yelled at him to do it and that i am recording this conversation, he simply hungup.
(i wasnt recording the convo)
I have emailed them multiple times but i guess they just want to keep taking my money. so i cancelled the credit card that they were charing.. i am just worried if they will mess with my credit..
i filed a complaint on BBB also. what measures should i take so that they dont mess with my credit…
Vonage is notorious for its customer service. They gave me such a hard time too when I was trying to close my account. I vowed never to give them my business again.

send a cancellation latter via registered mail, send the same via email to their customer service referring to your conversatiin attempting to cancel, refer the registered letter and provide its tracking number and keep all that for your records. keep a copy of the letter you sent to them as well.

This is worrisome. I've Vonage. Although I'm not canceling the service but due to their recent debacle in the court regarding Verizon proprietary technology and court decision, it may be in trouble and I might have to change carriers eventually. I'll keep this in mind if it comes to my canceling the service.
this is so weird....cuz lately i've been having problems my vonage service also and everytime i try to call them, I never get through. I emailed their customer service but no one responded back as yet.
my mom signed up for vonage n used it for several months and she had been having problems with their service so finally called to cancel the service and the customer service rep. told her she can't cancel the account as she had a contract for 4 years. I was like ainn....she never signed up for any contracts. I called and spoke to them in a very harsh tone and they closed the account(ironically they never mentioned abt the so called contract!). yeh bohat bari chorr company maloom hoti hai.
Lingo is not available in Canada. What are the alternates?
How come nobody is offering virtual number for Pakistan.
Any reliable service for virtual number for Pakistan, online perhaps where we can pay directly a monthly charge or something like that. Can a VN from another vendor will work with existing Vonage line?
