First of all, what does “protein in urine” really mean. Yes, I googled it but it didnt help me enough. Secondly, I am 20 weeks plus and my doctor found infection and protein. I am prescribed Septra DS for 7 days. I just wanted to know if anyone has taken it and can term it as being safe. Note that I am NOT allergic to any medication Alhamdulillah. MY GP prescribed me this and she knows I am pregnant, and the laws in Canada are really strick regarding pregnancy and she also mentioned that it has no harm to the baby. But I am just bipolar like that and I would like to know if anyone else experienced that/ been prescribed this medicine. Any natural remedies to avoid having it again in the future months?

I strongly recommend you have these conversations with your healthcare provider. Asking for personal experiences from online users in regards to antibiotic/or other med use isnt going to help you at all because it will not tell you how YOU will react to that specific medication. Everyone biology/physiology and drug metabolism is unique. if you need to know the most common side effects of any medications. ask your pharmacist or primary or look at the insert that comes with the medication.
also while you are at it … google up effects of untreated UTI on pregnancy. look up terms like preterm labor, low birth weight and increased risk of fetal or newborn mortality in the context of UTI’s.
