**Sept 6 to be remembered as historic day in country’s history: Foreign Minister

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that September 6 would be remembered as a historic day in the Parliamentary history of the country. Talking with media persons at the Parliament House, he said that the Members of Parliament would elect the PPP candidate Asif Ali Zardari with a thumping majority.
He said that Asif Zardari would strive for strengthening of democratic institutions in the country.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the PPP would restore the Constitution in its original form, which would help restore stability in the political system.
To a question he said that a comprehensive national foreign policy would be formulated soon.
He further said his ministry has prepared an appraisal of the foreign policy and experts on foreign policy would be invited for their input. He said he has already approached Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari in this regard.
