No, but it doesn’t mean we put our faith in them either.
Church and state seperation is meaningless in Islam. There is no Church. This is not a trivial difference, nor is this a cop-out.
For 1400 years, the ruiling class was NOT the same as the clerical class.
We are stagnent for obvious reasons…secularism (or lack of it) is not one of the reasons.
All and sundry admit that at one point we were on the right track…and we were anything but secular during our “golden” age.
Those days are gone, but if we did it once…with a lot of hard work (and this is the key, WORK) we can do it again.
The answer to this question is not one word.
